Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice about 4-5 lemons for about 1 cup juice
  • 3 cups crushed ice preferably ice cubes crushed into smaller chunks
  • 2 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon fresh mint for garnish, optional

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Pour the freshly squeezed lemon juice into the blender and add the sugar, then pulse a few times to help the sugar dissolve slightly.
  2. Pour in the crushed ice evenly into the blender over the lemon mixture.
  3. Secure the lid and blend on high until the mixture is thick, frosty, and slightly slushy, about 30-60 seconds. You should see the ice break down into tiny granules and the texture become smooth yet grainy.
  4. Pause blending and check the texture; if it’s too thick, add a splash of water or more lemon juice, then blend again briefly until well incorporated.
  5. Pour the slushie into glasses, and garnish each with a sprig of fresh mint for a fragrant finish.
    1 cup fresh lemon juice
  6. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon, enjoying the icy, tangy refreshment.

Notes

For a sweeter slushie, add more sugar or adjust the lemon juice for tartness. Crushing the ice well ensures a smooth, icy texture. Garnishing with mint enhances the fragrance and visual appeal.
