Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups water for brewing tea
  • 2 bags black tea bags or any preferred tea
  • 1 cup fruit juice or pureed fruit e.g., strawberry puree or orange juice
  • 1/4 cup honey or simple syrup adjust sweetness to taste
  • ice cubes adjust as needed ice cubes for blending

Method
 

  1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Once boiling, remove from heat and add tea bags. Steep for 5 minutes until the tea is strongly flavored. Remove the bags and let the tea cool completely.
  2. Pour the cooled tea into a mixing bowl and stir in the fruit juice or pureed fruit along with honey or simple syrup. Mix well to combine the flavors and adjust the sweetness as desired.
  3. Transfer the tea-fruit mixture to a blender. Add a handful of ice cubes. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and slushy, with a frosty, semi-ice texture.
  4. Pour the frozen slushie into glasses and garnish with fresh fruit slices or mint if desired. Serve immediately for the best icy texture.
