  • 2 cups pitted ripe cherries preferably fresh or frozen
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice brightens the flavor
  • 1 cup ice cubes preferably crushed or small

Method
 

  1. Measure out the pitted cherries and place them in the blender.
  2. Add the granulated sugar and fresh lemon juice to the cherries.
  3. Pour in the ice cubes into the blender, ensuring there's enough for a thick, icy texture.
  4. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and slushy, with a vibrant red color and icy texture.
  5. Pause the blender as needed to scrape down the sides with a spatula and ensure even blending.
  6. Once the mixture is thick, smooth, and snow cone-like, pour the cherry slushie into chilled glasses.
  7. Garnish with a fresh cherry or a sprig of mint if desired, and serve immediately for the best icy texture.
