Caramel Slushie

A caramel slushie is a frozen, icy beverage made by blending rich caramel with ice and milk, creating a smooth, sweet, and icy treat. The mixture transforms into a creamy, slushy texture with a golden-brown hue, ideal for hot summer days. It combines the indulgence of caramel with the refreshing chill of a frozen drink.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce preferably smooth and pourable
  • 2 cups ice cubes fresh or crushed
  • 1 cup milk whole or your preferred type

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Measure out the caramel sauce and pour it into the blender.
  2. Add the ice cubes to the blender, ensuring they fill about halfway up.
  3. Pour the milk over the ice and caramel, creating a creamy base for the slushie.
  4. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high for about 30-60 seconds, until the mixture is thick, smooth, and icy with a golden hue.
  5. Stop the blender and check the consistency; if it's too thick, add a splash more milk and blend briefly to incorporate.
  6. Once the mixture is smooth and frosty, pour it into glasses, observing the thick, icy, caramel-infused texture.
  7. Optionally, drizzle extra caramel sauce on top for extra sweetness and visual appeal.
  8. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon, enjoying the icy, sweet, caramel flavor.

Notes

For a richer flavor, warm the caramel slightly before blending if it’s too thick. Adjust the amount of caramel for sweetness. If the mixture becomes too icy or thick, a splash of milk helps smooth it out. For a dairy-free version, substitute milk with a plant-based alternative.
